An expert review is an experience-based assessment of a page. It's the fastest research you can do — and it's the first step, not a substitute for data.

Expect roughly half of what you flag to not hold up once you check it against analytics and customer feedback. That's fine: the output of an expert review is a list of areas to validate, not a list of changes to ship. (adapted from CXL's ResearchXL process)

ground rules

• one page at a time — for this workshop, a PDP
• review desktop and mobile separately; they're different experiences
• more than one reviewer — problems several people flag on their own are your strongest signals
• write observations, not fixes: "the returns policy isn't near the CTA," not "add a returns badge"
